Best Questions to Ask Recruiters

Recruiters are there to help you get the job.

They’re on your side.

Like any other job, there are good and bad recruiters. But the good ones should be a great source of information.

So here are some questions you can ask your next recruiter:

  • What does the interview process look like? How many rounds are there?

  • Will each round be individual, group or panel style?

  • What does the timeline look like for the interview process?

  • Are there any technical assessments?

  • Do you have any resources to prepare for the interviews?

  • What type of questions can I expect in the interviews?

  • Does the company prefer interview answers in a certain structure? (e.g., STAR)

  • How long after the interview will a decision be made?

  • Would I receive any feedback if I’m not selected?

  • Can I apply to other roles that may be a good fit for me at [company]?

P.S. These questions were inspired by my conversations with recruiters.

I’m keeping things short this week since I’m traveling.

I’ll be sure to share a more in depth issue next week.

But if you have any (lingering) questions that you want answered in next weeks newsletter fill out this form.
